Minecraft For Xbox 360 Made Profit In Just One Hour

11 May 2012 - 01:44 AM

If bringing Minecraft to the Xbox 360 was an experiment, that trial has been a success.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed today on Twitter that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, which launched yesterday on Xbox Live, became profitable in just one hour.

"Well then. Saw the official sales numbers for the first 24 hours of Minecraft Xbox 360, and it's very, very good," he said. "Profitable in an hour."

[UPDATE] PlayXBLA reports today that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has broken all previous Xbox Live Arcade digital sales records, dethroning Trials Evolution.

Additionally, Persson revealed on Twitter this afternoon that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sold more than 400,000 units during its first 24 hours.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition was developed by 4J Studios, the Scotland-based shop that built Xbox Live Arcade titles Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, and Banjo-Tooie. It retails for $20 on Xbox Live and will add Kinect support at a later date via a patch.

Do You Have An Ipod/iphone/ipad And Keep Losing Hdd Space?

31 October 2011 - 02:30 AM

Alright, I noticed that I kept losing a TON of HDD space for no reason. And I had no idea where it was going. So I downloaded a handy little free tool called Tree Size http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/download.shtml

I was looking around trying to see where it went, when I noticed a lot of space (18GB to be exact) being taken up by Apple Computers. And seeing as I have a PC, I was curious. So I went into the folder, and found that there were A TON of iPod backups. Ranging anywhere from 1.5GB down to <50 bytes. Useless backups dating back to 12/25/2010. Turns out, after doing some research, iTunes does a backup EVERY time you plug an iPod/iPhone/iPad in. On a PC, if you go into iTunes and go to Edit->Preferences->Backups, it will show you a couple backups, delete the old ones first. Although, it is completely optional as you will soon see that there are hundreds to thousands of files. I will give you instructions on how to get rid of these files.

This guide is for PC. Windows 7, namely. But just adjust to suit the Windows OS.

Step 1: Enable "Show hidden files and folders."
1.1: Go to Control Panel
1.2: Appearance and Personalization
1.3: Show Hidden Files and Folders under the "Folder Options" section.
1.4: This will bring up a box. Look for "Hidden files and folders," then click "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."
1.5: Click apply.

Step 2: Getting into the folder.
On Win7, go to -
My Computer/C:/Users/(User name)/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/Mobile Sync/Backup.

Now, you will see a folder with a long string of numbers and letters. This is the one you want. This folder has all the files that iTunes makes and is taking up unholy amounts of space. Delete ALL but the latest dated ones (usually, mine creates about 200-230 files each backup.) This is easy by sorting it by date.

And ta-dah. You will now have more free space after emptying the Recycling Bin.

Like I said, mine took up 18GB of space. For no reason. So, remember to do this often and you'll have more space.

See How Websites Looked A Long Time Ago

I stumbled across this website. It shows how websites looked a long time ago. For example...Google, back in 1998.

Share what other sites you find interesting.
